Pre-Community Studies Global Academy

Lifework in Communitarian Mission

Why Pre-Community Studies Global?

Pre-Community Studies Global Academy is a broad program designed to introduce Christian believers to ways to serve in their communities through pastoral care and chaplaincy, community development, behavioral healthcare, community health advocacy, faith community services, and faith-based social work.

Global Pre-Community Studies integrates biblical and theological foundation of the missio Dei (mission of God) with a gospel-centered approach to global community care that empowers communities to flourish in alignment with God’s mission by restoring relationships between people, creation, and God.

Students discover approaches that emphasize the inseparable connection between faith and action. By integrating holistic practices and engaging with societal systems, students learn how to reflect God’s transformative love in practical and meaningful ways.

The program builds on an understanding of urban communities and international community development. Students survey global perspectives of a number of related disciplines including: crisis and disaster management, pastoral care, mental health, human development and the family, faith community services and social work. A practicum exposes the student to the integration of missional practices with community service.
