Associate Certificate in Intercultural Studies with a focus in Africana Studies

Serving among cultural groups in the mission of God

Why Africana Studies?

The Associate Certificate in Africana Studies explores the history of the African peoples from the pre-colonial to the modern era with particular attention to the political and social systems. Courses explore the fundamental cultural commonalities that African peoples share in the midst of linguistic and other kinds of diversity and an introduction to the sociological, cultural, historical, and political issues impacting those citizens of African descent living in America.  The courses position the understanding of African peoples in the context of a broader partnership with God’s mission in the world.
