Analyzes the essential themes of contemporary ethical theory, especially those expressed within the Christian theological tradition. Utilizing Scripture as its lens, this course will investigate aspects of personal ethics.
Much of ministry rises and falls on the personal character and integrity of the minister. This course will give the student the Christian theological foundation for living a life of personal and ministerial integrity.
There are few things that can be so devastating to a person’s ministry, to the church, and to Christian testimony than unethical behavior on the part of a Christian leader or organization. This course will provide the theological foundation for the practice of personal and ministerial ethics.
Personal ethics are grounded in the nature of God, the person of Jesus, and the teachings of Scripture.
Any person on mission in life must guard his/her personal testimony. Personal ethics will make or break a missional testimony.
Although Biblical ethics are absolute, their application and expression will be shaped by a person's cutlure.
Biblical ethics are trans-cultural, but must take into account cultural expressions and concerns.
Nothing could be more practical in a missional context than the personal ethics of the student.
The student will be challenged to examine and evaluate his/her personal ethics in light of Scripture.
