Bio

A specialist in the intersection of philosophy of mind, theological anthropology & human origins, Dr. Joshua Farris has nearly ten years of academic experience developing curriculum and teaching topics in analytic philosophy, western civilization, biblical theology, and ethics as a lecturer at colleges, universities, and seminaries in Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, and Texas. He also served as head of a Christian high school. His post-doctoral research was conducted in philosophical and systematic theology at Heythrop College, University of London, England.

Dr. Farris has co-edited six compendiums and authored two books on theological anthropology. His journal articles have appeared in journals such as: Journal of Biblical & Theological Studies; Scientia Et Fides; Chicago Studies; Theology Today; Philosophy, Theology, and the Sciences; Neue Zeitschrift fur Systematische Theologie und Religionsphilosophie; European Journal of Science and Theology; St. Anselm Journal; Jonathan Edwards Studies; Irish Theological Quarterly; Perichoresis; Philosophy and Theology; The Heythrop Journal, Religious Studies, Philosophia Christi, Argument Biannual Philosophical Journal; and Annales Philosophici. His chapter essays have appeared in volumes published by Bloomsbury Press, Brazos Press, Brill, Lexington Press, and Palgrave Macmillan. He regularly reviews publications treating topics in historical & dogmatic theology, systematic theology, philosophical theology, science and theology, philosophy, and popular culture. He has encyclopedia entries published in A Jonathan Edwards Encyclopedia, The Encyclopedia of Philosphy and Religion, and The Encyclopedia of Philosophy of Religion.

He has given academic presentations at the University of Bristol, the Tyndale House Study Group, the Society for the Study of Christian Ethics, the European Society of Philosophy of Religion, the Evangelical Philosophical Society, American Academy of Religion Southwest Conference, the International Confernce on Medieval and Renaissance Thought, the Institute of Philsophy and Theological Research, the Evangelical Thought and Philsophical Society, the Evangelical Theological Soceity, the Moscow Center for Consciousness Studies, the Analytic Theology Project at University of Innsbruck, and the Society of Christian Philosophers. Dr. Farris and his family live in Alabama, US.
