This course will examine social issues and influences on people in everyday life. These issues and influences include but are not limited to conformity, persuasion, prejudice, social media, self-justification, propaganda, and emotional feelings. Students will learn how such influences can create or influence development and mental illness.
This course will relate to students who want to identify social influences on human behavior.
In today’s world, we are seeing both negative and positive influences on people around the world. This course assists students in learning practices and procedures needed to identify negative influences and provide positive influences to clients.
This course will focus on 1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals."
In Social Influences on Behavior, students will learn the importance to spread witness to people who allow social influences to corrupt their life.
Throughout the Bible we are told not be deceived by material possessions or influences of others. Within our own communities, people are suffering from corruption. Through this course, future counselors will learn skills needed to work clients who have been negatively influenced.
In this course, students will learn how social corruption influences those from diverse populations as well as how to treat them including their cultural beliefs.
This course will emphasis the importance of ministry to those who suffer from negative influences by using knowledge gained from the course to identify social influences and work with client’s positively with the Bible for knowledge in ministry.
This course will include field case studies for students to analyze and discuss with their classmates.
