What challenges do military families face and which of these challenges are largely unique to the military setting? This introductory course provides a brief overview of the culture and the nature of military service, resources available for military families, and how anyone can learn to become more sensitive to their needs, and help provide assistance, encouragement, or referral when needed.
Students have a need to understand their ministry context. If they are to minister to and advocate for the military family, they must understand them.
This course works to recognize and understand programs and systems which will make a real-life impact for the military family.
Preservation of the family is a core biblical teaching, as well as advocating--being a servant--to those in need.
Reaching out to military families and advocating for them are core missional activities.
The military environment is a unique field and reaching them and their families in a missional context necessitates a biblical and evangelical approach.
Many cultures are represented in the military family.
This course will look at real life issues facing military families.
Learners will interact with and identify needs of military families.
