Course description

This course introduces an overview of concepts and theories for managing technology in everyday life. Topics covered in this course will be: uses and effects of technology in society, technology in education, technology in business, and technology in health.

“If you already feel like you are living in a sci-fi futuristic fantasy, just wait. Technology is getting exponentially faster, more immersive and intuitive. And as technology changes, so does the way we live” according to Entrepreneur (2016). Students will be a the heart of learning the new technological advances in everyday life and these skills will enable them to enter into a ministry career/volunteer and become successful in various fields.

Why this course is important

Managing technology for everyday life is can be seen as corrupt or harmful to society today but students will learn to use it for a positive purpose. Students will experience various opportunities to share God’s love and word with the use of technology within multiple careers and volunteer endeavors.

Biblically based

This course will highlight concepts from a biblical worldview and explore the various uses of technology in everyday society with reflection on the following verses: Exodus 31:1-5 - Then the Lord said to Moses, 2 “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, 3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— 4 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, 5 to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts.

The ultimate goal for this course is to train missional leaders in the technology fields to spread and share the technological skills they have learned all around the world and various fields. Technology is worldwide in any career or industry where students can teach, serve, and lead in various missionary explorations.

Managing technology for everyday life in today’s society and keeping abreast of the rapid changes is vital to the various uses in technology. Churches today use more advanced technology with sermons, music department, youth, children’s church, mission groups, and more.

Technology for everyday life provides a rich understanding of how technology can be used in various situations locally and worldwide with other cultures. This course provides the opportunity to promote diversity and learn various ways to communicate and use technology to share God’s love globally.

Technology for everyday life offers students with the skills they need for everyday life and practical needs.

This course will provide students with opportunities in applying their skills in technology to serve and explore new innovative technologies and ideas for everyday life situations in various fields. This course will provide students with the hands on tools to apply their skills with serving as volunteers or working in this field and experience real world situations and settings.
