Within the School of Educational Practice (SEP) at Missional University, the Curriculum and Instruction department serves as the integrative architect of learning experiences that propel the missio Dei—the Triune God’s redemptive mission to restore creation through Christ and by the Spirit. This department constructs curricula that unveil God’s goodness, truth, and beauty across every discipline, anchoring education in Scripture as the unifying core while tracing divine fingerprints from mathematics to history. Echoing Augustine’s “all truth is God’s truth,” programs infuse missional intentionality into every unit, forming learners who discover their identity as image-bearers, think critically, live faithfully, and extend God’s reign vocationally—fulfilling Jeremiah’s call to “seek the welfare of the city” (Jer 29:7).
Curricularly, Curriculum and Instruction interlocks with SEP’s five departments and four Educational Theology courses. It operationalizes Theology of Knowledge and Revelation by subordinating general revelation to Scripture’s norming authority, guarding against noetic distortion. Biblical Theology of Education supplies the redemptive arc from Eden’s mandate to renewed minds (Rom 12:2), ensuring curricula reflect eschatological telos. Theology of Pedagogy & Instruction mirrors divine methods—incarnational presence, parabolic inquiry, kairos timing—synergizing with Teacher Education’s spiritual mentorship, Educational Leadership’s reconciliation cultures, Technology and Alternative Approaches’ diverse modalities, and Literacy and Language Education’s mother-tongue materials.
This integration transforms classrooms into theaters of kingdom advance: SEP graduates design Bible-saturated curricula that disciple image-bearers, equipping them to proclaim Christ across disciplines and anticipate the earth filled with God’s glory (Hab 2:14). Curriculum and Instruction thus ensures education is not neutral but missional—forming believers as instruments of God’s restorative mission.
