Moral Theology of Education investigates teaching and learning as primary arenas of character formation (paideia) oriented toward virtue, love, and the beatific vision. Drawing from Old Testament wisdom literature, Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, and Pauline exhortations to “put on Christ,” students explore how classrooms become moral communities where habits of heart and mind are shaped through story, practice, discipline, and grace. The course equips educators to integrate moral reasoning, conscience formation, and restorative discipline into every subject, countering both legalism and relativism.
