The course focuses on financial planning for non-profit organizations to include but not limited to the following topics: basic organizational and financial planning, leadership principles, underlying organizational issues involved with planning and budgeting, financial planning principles and practices, in-depth analysis of an organization’s financial strategy by discussing case studies and experience, knowledge of how financial planning, norms, strategies and direction influence the bottom line.
Upon complete the undergraduate and graduate courses, students will show evidence of their understanding of the foundation and strategies of Financial Planning in Non-profit Organizations from a Biblical and theological perspective through critical reflection in engaging with relevant literatures and case studies, benchmarking and completing and responding to assignments and online discussions.
Financial Planning is a key part of any organization. Financial Planning, whether in the form of bartering or monetary exchange, flow largely out of religious thought and tradition. Secular institutions success is largely based on strategic financial planning, and financial practices from the Bible that have long been explored in the Christian faith are evident in their practices. It would benefit the larger mission of God for mission-minded individuals with training in Financial Planning to be in these roles as influential voice to the ever-challenging area of finance.
