Once students know how to connect with residents in residential communities, they will now learn relationship-building skills. We will look at Jesus' use of networks and how He took the time to talk with people in different settings in order to alter the course of their lives and share the hope of personal salvation. Building relationships of trust is a labor that requires intentionality and confidence.
The beginning stages of ministry normally consist of connecting with the owner/manager and implementing events that are designed to allow meeting residents and staff. Students will now consider how to develop an ongoing ministry that deepens relationships and allows a number of ways to continue meeting new people and growing existing relationships. These skills expand a student’s resume to include practical ways of working with residents.
Every missional leader will need to master the process of opening doors to the masses who live in multihousing settings. As new strata is added, one will learn to develop the relationships necessary for effective sharing of the gospel. Learning about similar processes such as Literacy and mentoring will enable student to continue ministry relationships beyond initial contact.
An analysis of how Jesus related to the His networks is at the heart of our study. Pulling from the Scriptures, we will see how His examples are to be applied to our work in apartment communities.
