Traces the rise and the early development of Christianity in the Ancient Mediterranean context and focuses on a wide variety of different genres of literature from the first six centuries, including epistolary writings, historical accounts, martyrdoms, apologies, legal texts, and others.

Since church history has touched on every race and every culture, students from all walks of life will be engaged by this course.
Students will be challenged to develop historical perspective, which will serve them to better understand current political, economic, and ecclesiastical contexts.
The Christian student will be engaging his/her own history, gaining an understanding of where he comes from and where she is going.
