How this course relates to missional core values

Biblically based

Jesus reached out and dialogued with an impressively wide range of individuals in His minitry. In the same way, we want to be able to reach across barriers in showing love and grace.

Missionally driven

The call to a missional life opens the way to reaching out and crossing things that divide groups and individuals.

Contextually informed

We are situated in our groups and see through cultural glasses. This course allows us to explore our cultural position and overcoming barriers to cross-cultural understandings.

Interculturally focused

We are called to cross cultures. Models and methods will aid us in effectively reaching out.

Practically minded

Students carry out ethnographic interviews to enter the cultural world of someone else. This gives the student a better understanding of their own cultural background and perspectives.

Experientially transformed

Students participate in exercises to increase their understanding and develop skills in cross-cultural communication.
