This course investigates the asset based planning approach to community development using the strength perspective to developing sustainable communities. Students will formulate asset maps and develop an inventory of community strengths for sustainable community development.
This course teaches the advantages of identifying community leaders, organizational efforts and community resources in promoting community involvement, and ownership of programs. This will aid students going into the fields of community service, community development, ministry, and organizing.
This course will provide a vital framework for students to understand the strengths of their community in order to plan and implement sustainable community development strategies with their community.
This course is based on a Biblical worldview. Main Biblical text will be Matthew 15,16 and 2 Kings 4.
