Course description

This course provides comprehensive understanding of various learning differences, disabilities, and special needs within homeschool contexts. Home School Educators learn to recognize indicators of conditions including dyslexia, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, processing disorders, and giftedness. The course covers legal rights, obtaining evaluations, developing individualized education plans, and implementing accommodations at home. Students explore assistive technologies, specialized curricula, therapeutic approaches, and community resources. Emphasis is placed on advocating for children's needs, connecting with support networks, and creating learning environments where all children can thrive regardless of challenges.
