Course description

This course teaches Home School Educators to monitor student progress, diagnose learning difficulties, and implement effective interventions. Students learn various assessment types (formative, summative, portfolio-based), interpret standardized test results, and recognize signs of learning disabilities or gaps. The course covers common challenges in reading (dyslexia indicators), math (dyscalculia), writing (dysgraphia), and attention/executive function. Home School Educators develop skills in differentiating instruction, providing remediation, and knowing when to seek professional evaluation. Emphasis is placed on early identification, evidence-based interventions, and maintaining children's confidence while addressing struggles. The course includes resources for gifted learners as well.
