This course seeks to familiarise the student with the concept of marketplace ministry at the global marketplace, to provide various models of marketplace ministries and to assist the students to impact the business world regardless of where they live and work.
Dr. Billy Graham in the 1990’s labeled the 21st century as the century of the marketplace, thus highlighting the focus that must be given to the marketplace for evangelism. Any student that lives and works in any community and relates to those around him/her needs to know how other believers deal with similar settings and how they can be effective in their role as Kingdom citizens.
The Kingdom people - MU students - who daily engage in the marketplace in all sector of our community globally must see their world through the eyes of the Lord as the setting where they are placed as His ambassadors.
The great commandment and the great commission are the foundation for every follower of Jesus Christ to make a difference and impact his/her marketplace environment
The student will learn about marketplace missions, examine models and will be asked to create opportunities for being a witness in his/her own marketplace.
There is a unique opportunity as students engage with the course content to learn how business is conducted in their culture and how they will be integrating their faith in the business culture.
As the class will engage people from across various backgrounds and cultures it will provide times where the students will learn from each other how others function and live in their circumstances.
The entire course will be focused on how personal faith is applied to our every day contact with the marketplace.
The students will be involved in exercises that will allow them to test their faith as it is applied in everyday circumstances and be able to share them as a group.
