The School of Health Mission exists to prepare leaders who join the mission of God in bringing compassion care to those who suffer. Our faculty are scholars and practitioners at once, with deep expertise in their fields and firsthand experience serving in health settings. Health Mission unites faith and healing in service to vulnerable populations, communities burdened by disease and disparity, and people who carry affliction in body, mind, or spirit. Graduate students are mentored to think critically, lead with competence, and serve with conviction, so that people and places may know health, dignity, and spiritual transformation. The School offers advanced degree programs at the master’s and doctoral levels.
The School of Health Mission is under the leadership of the Dean who reports to the Provost. Periodic reports are made directly to the University faculty & Provost, and through the University President, to the Board of Trustees. The faculty conducts its day-to-day business primarily through its division and department meetings.
All faculty must subscribe to Missional University’s Mission, Vision & Core Values Statement, Statement of Faith, and Ethos Statement, as well as meet the academic and professional requirements of the field in which they are teaching. The Dean and/or the department chair interview(s) all candidates for faculty teaching positions. All teachers are evaluated for their instructional performance in each course.
