Bio

Professor Kelly Schmidt directed membership events, church promotions, small groups, internal communications, discipleship and spiritual formation, and community life organizational systems in churches, served with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, and was the director and instructor for the Emerging Leaders Network in the US northwest. She also taught western culture, language, and writing in China and organizational leadership courses at a college in California. Her academic areas of interest include strategic leadership with a focus on organizational culture and design, change management, leadership development training, and adult learning. Her focus on communities of practice arises not only from her involvement with small groups, but her educational approach to integrating experiential learning that focuses on the competency of a range of skills yet is more rooted in identify, thinking and acting. Professor Schmidt lives in California.
