Examines and analyzes the historical phenomenon of global people migration from a biblical theological perspective. The student explores a variety of anthropological, biblical, contextual, political, sociological, theological issues, leading to a theology for missionally engaging the people of the contemporary Diaspora.
Every student is aware of changing demographics and of contemporary immigration and refugee issues. This course enables him or her to engage these issues through the lens of a Biblical theology and engage cross-culturally with the people of the Diaspora.
Contemporary ministry and missions is virtually impossible without considering the global migration of peoples. This course gives the student both the theological foundation and the practical tools to missionally engage those of the Diaspora.
The course is grounded in the Biblical understanding of people's movements and of treatment of the foreigner.
The contemporary reality of diaspora requires that the student consider engaging all nations and peoples with the gospel.
The course considers the specific contexts where the diaspora of peoples is taking place.
The very nature of diaspora implies intercultural understanding and engagement.
