An examination and analysis of the Biblical material regarding spiritual warfare. The student will compare and contrast the issues in theology, history, culture, and contextualization in order to understand the reality of spiritual warfare and develop strategies for victorious ministry and missiological engagement.
Every missionally engaged student must recognize the reality of spiritual warfare; in fact, many mission agencies will not appoint missionaries unless they have taken courses on Spiritual Warfare. Therefore, the student will learn to recognize the various understanding and misunderstandings of Biblical spiritual warfare and gain the proper biblical, theological, historical, and contextual understanding and develop strategies for engaging in victorious spiritual warfare.
Spiritual warfare is a ministerial and missiological reality. Students must understand the Biblical truth about spiritual warfare and be prepared for engagement in both ministry and missional living.
The student will engage the biblical text and will develop a biblical theology of spiritual warfare.
This course of study is geared for the reality of spiritual warfare in the mission fields of the United States and around the world.
The course will take into account Spiritual warfare issues in multiple global contexts, including that of the postmodern world.
The course is intercultural because spiritual warfare crosses every culture of the world and will consider spiritual warfare in a variety of cultural settings.
This course is practical because it is not based on some purely abstract theories, but deals with missional and ministry realities in both the seen and unseen world.
Those who have been transformed by Christ and are applying the principles they have mastered in spiritual warfare study will see growth in their personal lives and their congregations.
