Course description

This course will explore the skills and abilities on an advanced level that are necessary to provide effective placement services for people with disabilities including areas such as schools, vocational, career, and housing. Students will also identify and define state and federal guidelines regarding placement services for client’s with disabilities or other special needs.

This course will relate to students who want to serve in the capacity of assisting clients in need of rehabilitation and placement services in various populations.

Why this course is important

In today’s world, we are seeing an increase in injury, crime, and addictions among other stressors. This course is important to the University as it will assist students at an advanced level in learning practices and procedures as well as state and federal laws and regulations needed to provide proper care to clients in need with rehabilitation.

In Placement Services for Rehabilitation Counseling, students will learn the importance to spread witness to people who need guidance, rehabilitation and support through God.

Throughout the Bible we are told to spread the word of Jesus as well as love our neighbors. Within our own communities, people are suffering from injuries to addictions to criminal charges. Through this course, future counselors will learn and define rehabilitation as well as gain understanding the need to find better placement services their clients.

In this course, students will learn how mental illness influences those from diverse populations as well as how to treat them including their cultural beliefs.

This course will emphasis the importance of ministry to those client’s in need of case management by using knowledge gained from the course to assess and deliver resources to those in need by means of the Bible for knowledge in ministry.

Through the course, students will learn state and federal laws and requirements and be able to relate these in the field as well as skills needs to find placement services for their clients.
