LNG6200EN - Issues & Methods of Teaching English Grammar for ESL/EFL Teachers

Course description

Students synthesize theoretical knowledge in the field of linguistics and second language acquisition. Students will be required to identify effective pedagogy for the teaching of ESL and create a lesson that demonstrates “the best practices” in instructional methods in the ESL classroom. Students will engage in the current and relevant research and approaches to teaching speaking and writing Standard English. There will be an emphasis on effective methods of teaching grammar and writing. Students will design a course syllabus synthesized from the overall course content and activities.
