How this course relates to missional core values

Biblically based

The Ten Commandments identify that one should not bear false witness. Business-related fraud violates both of these commandments.

Missionally driven

Graduate level education in business as mission needs to focus on how missional leaders can improve business practices and prevent fraudulent practices.

Contextually informed

Believers function in the temporal world, but should not be ruled by sin, instead always working to transform themselves into the image of Christ (John 17:14-15). Further, 21st century missional leaders need to be aware of current issues.

Interculturally focused

Business Mission professionals operate in a global economy. It is important for them to be sensitive to diversity, as well as be proficient in recognizing how laws in other countries could impact the operation of business internationally. International law considerations will be addressed in this course.

Practically minded

This course will provide students with the practical tools to determine what needs can best be met in a community, the costs involved with providing those services, and the legal and ethical considerations that should be addressed

Experientially transformed

In addition to reviewing the standards and laws, students will evaluate the best methods to prevent fraud.
