How this course relates to missional core values

Biblically based

The Ten Commandments identify that one should not steal nor bear false witness, both of which are violated in white collar crime. Additionally, in Rom. 13:7 Paul tells believers that they are subject to governmental authorities.

Missionally driven

Christians in the workplace should set themselves apart. This course will provide an overview of economic crime and its impact on all aspects of society.

Contextually informed

Believers function in the temporal world, but should not be ruled by sin, instead always working to transform themselves into the image of Christ (John 17:14-15).

Interculturally focused

The Internet enables economic crime to occur across multiple locations. Because businesses operate in a global economy, economic crime occurring in one business can have international impact.

Practically minded

This course will provide students with the practical tools to evaluate methods of committing economic crime, but also to examine how society creates policy on how to address those who commit economic crimes.

Experientially transformed

In addition to reviewing the standards and laws, students will evaluate methods to assist businesses in preventing the commission of economic crime.
