How this course relates to missional core values

Biblically based

The commandment to do unto others as we would have done to us is of paramount importance. This course reaches out to all because "there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Jesus Christ." Galatians 3:28. The koine Greek πάντες γὰρ ὑμεῖς εἷς means that we are one body. When one in the body suffers, we all suffer. When a minority suffers, we all suffer.

Missionally driven

The Christian Environmental Justice Advocate has a wonderfully made toolbox to come to the aid of environmentally afflicted minorities and low income communities.

Contextually informed

While the current administration is making great strides in environmental justice, particularly with President Biden’s Justice40 program, this course informs students that there is not equal justice for all in this country.

Interculturally focused

This course focuses on minorities and low-income groups such as indigenous peoples around the world. These communities are widely different in their cultures and advocates tailor make their support to these different cultures.

Practically minded

This course focuses on minorities and low-income groups such as indigenous peoples around the world. These communities are widely different in their cultures and advocates tailor make their support to these different cultures.

Experientially transformed

The student is transformed experientially by all the above to become an Environmental Justice Advocate.
