Dr. Matthew Murphy serves as the Chair of the Missional Living Department of the School of Missional Practice, and as Professor of Missional Living at Missional University. He has experience transitioning church plants to become focused on developing missional communities in different sociocultural settings in the Northeast USA. His doctoral work was on the nature of semiotics and future studies with Leonard Sweet. His dissertation was titled "Missional Communities: Why They Are Failing and How to Help Them Thrive." He lives in metro Philadelphia where he serves as a church planter with his family.
