A pastor, chaplain and teacher with expertise in world Christianity, intercultural studies, missiology, evangelism, theology and religion, Dr. Nelson Ngoy brings a wealth of evangelistic experience on three continents to the classroom. Because Christian engagement in missional activities is a significant task; therefore, he has found the same cultural analysis formerly applied by missionaries in distant places must now be applied by all Christian believers close to home. Moreover, through sharing the "whole gospel for the whole person," Dr. Ngoy has had personal encounters rooted in cross-cultural embodiment in the context of at-risk-youth, human trafficking, racial reconciliation, and political and poverty alleviation that have opened doors for him to engage persons with the gospel message. These encounters with people from muslim, folk religion, and new religious movement backgrounds enabled him to interact with their socio-religious worldviews. In his teaching, Dr. Ngoy seeks to merge academic and real, practical-life experiences that transforms the classroom into a hermeneutical community of hope centered in the person of Jesus Christ. Dr. Ngoy and his family live in New York.
